Frequently Asked Questions
How can therapy help me?
Therapy can give you support, validation, coping skills, and strategies to change your perspective and your behaviours. It can give you greater peace of mind and help you tolerate difficult feelings and situations. Your therapist works to create a safe, non-judgmental space for you to express yourself authentically.

Therapy cannot change other people or external circumstances. Therapists may provide psychoeducation, feedback, and guidance, but they don’t give answers.

If you’re new to therapy and/or are exploring unprocessed trauma, therapy may make you feel a bit worse before you feel better. Generally, the more you put into therapy, the more you’ll get out of it
How do I know if a therapist is a good fit for me?
A good relationship with anyone – including your therapist – depends in part on the 'chemistry'. It also depends on transparency and respect. A therapy goal is to work through any difficulties that may come up in the therapy, together.
